•  Yudansha @ Westcroft JC (Nork)

Yudansha literally means a person (sha)  holding (yu)  rank (dan).  The judo ranks are divided into:

  • the competitive/technical grades of 1st - 5th dan (black belts),
  • the high/expert grades of 6th -8th dan (red and white belt) (min competitive grade of 3rd dan)
  • the ultimate grates of 9th and 10th dan (red belt).

The following members have been grade to, or within, the dan grades, and have demonstrated

  • shin (personal conduct),
  • ghi (technical theory) and
  • tai (contest success):
