Our players were out in force this weekend at both the national dan grading and Harlow green and under. On Saturday Matty, Keilan, James and Oliver amassed 9 ippon wins and 90 promotion points between them (see below). On Sunday Ella, Bethany, Ethan, Jakub, Ashton and Romain won 3 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal. You definitely have to be in to win - looking forward to more entries in this event next year,

HALF TERM BREAK
We are now closed for half term - no judo on Sat 21/10, Mon 23/10, Thurs 26/10, or Sat 28/10. Classes will resume on Monday 30/10
WELCOME BACK TO JUDO
After a long summer break, we are back into judo with first class of the term starting on Thursday 7th September.
Check out the footage of the 2017 World Judo Championships on youtube. Two bronze medals for Great Britain and Japan win team title beating Brazil 6-0. Teddy Riner (FRA) won his 9th world title.
Well done to James Stephens who earned 10 points towards his blackbelt at the July national dan grading. (Keilan Blair won his black belt earlier in the year).
Banstead and Reigate Judo teams maintained a 15 year winning streak with Senior Boys and Junior Girls teams crowned Surrey Youth Games champions in June. Senior Girls were runners up.

Matty had a great day winning 3/4 fights to win a Silver medal for Warwick University in the Junior Men category at the London Unversities Tournament in Docklands. See his fantastic ne-waza on the facebook page.
